RPA, IAPMO Close to Completing Negotiations
Baldwinsville, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2011) The Radiant Panel Association (RPA) and International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) are close to concluding negotiations toward the continuation of a home for RPA membership and services.
An association of manufacturers, distributors, designers, dealers and installers of radiant panel heating and cooling systems and components, the RPA seeks to facilitate communication and cooperation among those interested in the advancement of the radiant panel heating and cooling industry primarily in North America.
Established in 1994, the RPA notably establishes industry standards of equipment performance and installation, provides training and educational aids for personnel in the radiant panel industry and promotes the value of radiant panel systems to the consumer.
As the sponsor of the American National Standard-designated Uniform Plumbing Code® (UPC) and Uniform Mechanical Code® (UMC), IAPMO members are dedicated to working in concert with government and industry for safe, sanitary plumbing and mechanical systems. In addition to product testing and listing services, IAPMO also develops standards, presents educational seminars and certifies journeymen and inspectors.
In seeking to increase the scope of its appeal to the radiant panel industry, RPA sees IAPMO as the perfect place to provide the home on which RPA members have come to rely. IAPMO's desire to advance the mission of the RPA members and to provide the services to which they have been accustomed will be a win-win for the membership of both associations.
"The RPA has been a tremendous organization that has had a profound impact on the indoor environment industry, on hundreds of companies, and on many of us personally," RPA President Dorothy Castagna-Biggs said. "It has run a great course and changed the face of radiant floor heating in the United States. The vision lives on, but it is now being broadened and enhanced with the integration and shared learning across a multitude of products and systems. We believe that IAPMO will offer us the best path forward for continued success."
"IAPMO is honored to be working with the RPA to explore options on how our two venerable organizations can work together to continue providing RPA's excellent services to members and our industry," said GP Russ Chaney, IAPMO CEO.
