Westlake, Ohio (Nov. 18, 2011) — On Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, the American Society of Sanitary Engineering's new Board of Directors were sworn into their elected positions. The nominations, elections and installation of ASSE's Officers and Directors took place in the Orleans Ballroom of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana as part of the Society's 2011 Annual Meeting. Elected as the 2011-2012 International President of the American Society of Sanitary Engineering is Donald R. Summers, Jr. (Missouri) of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 562.
"I am honored and humbled to be elected as International President of the American Society of Sanitary Engineering," said International President Summers. "I promise to work hard and diligently to move our Society forward for the future of our industry."
To fill the vacancies left by expired terms, four new members were elected to the ASSE Board of Directors. These Board members include Third Vice President Douglas Marian (California) of UA Plumbers Local 78, Region Two Director Matthew Marciniak (Wisconsin) of IAPMO, Region Six Director Richard J. Prospal (Ohio) of Prospal Consulting Services, Inc. and Region Eight Director Laurence Coleman (Illinois) of Pipe Fitters Local Union 597.
The 2011-2012 Board of Directors are: President, Donald R. Summers, Jr. of Missouri; First Vice President, Steve Silber of California; Second Vice President, Scott Hamilton of Wisconsin; Third Vice President, Douglas Marian of California; Immediate Past President, James Bickford of Florida; Treasurer, John F. Flader of Illinois; Region One Director representing the west, Donald Kool of Oregon; Region Two Director representing the northwest, Matthew Marciniak of Wisconsin; Region Three Director representing the south-central, Dana Colombo of Louisiana; Region Four Director representing the mid-west, Steve Stahnke of Missouri; Region Five Director representing the southeast, Joseph Kajak of Florida; Region Six Director representing the east, Richard J. Prospal of Ohio; Region Seven Director representing the northeast, Sean Cleary of Pennsylvania; and Region Eight Director representing members at-large, Laurence Coleman of Illinois.
