Dembekjian answered King's questions about IAPMO R&T's certification program and processes, the difference between certification and listing, product standards and the benefit of certification for the users of such products.

"Product certification definitely benefits consumers by the nature of its process in that what it does is obligate manufacturers to meet high quality standards for the health, safety and welfare of consumers," Dembekjian said. "And also manufacturers of certified products are required to control their products from the beginning, receiving materials or parts from suppliers, manufacturing process, quality control, all the way to the labeling of the products themselves."
