Randy Twist, 49, of Elk Grove, has been appointed to the California Building Standards Commission.

He has been the president of TNT Industrial Contractors Inc. since 1991. He is the treasurer and Northern California Coordinator for the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of California. Twist is a member of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and the Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials. This position requires Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.

Twist is a Republican.
