Call for Papers Announced for the 2012 ASPE Convention

Chicago, Illinois (January 18, 2012) — The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) is soliciting technical presentations for its 2012 Convention to be held October 28–31, 2012, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The ASPE Convention is a biennial forum dedicated to advancing the professional skills of plumbing engineers, designers, specifiers, contractors, manufacturers, code officials, and inspectors. In 2012 it will feature more than 30 technical education sessions on diverse topics including advanced plumbing technologies, sustainable design, fire protection systems, and life-safety systems.

ASPE is currently taking submissions from individuals who are interested in presenting technical sessions at the 2012 ASPE Convention. Topics should be nonproprietary in nature and designed to increase the technical design skills of plumbing industry professionals. Sample topics include green building and sustainable design practices, seismic design, venting systems, plumbing systems for specialized facilities, fire protection systems, and new and emerging design technologies and techniques.

Those interested in presenting a technical session can find more information and submit their proposal at aspe.org/CallForPapers or can contact aspeeducation@aspe.org. The deadline to submit proposals is April 1.

The ASPE Convention is held in conjunction with the Engineered Plumbing Exposition—the largest plumbing product exposition in the country—which showcases the latest plumbing products and systems and draws more than 4,000 industry attendees from across North America. Registration for this year’s event will open in May at ASPE.org.
